How do I get a free phone through Lifeline?
Visit LifelineSupport.org, choose a provider in your state, submit proof of eligibility (SNAP letter, Medicaid card), and receive your free phone by mail.
Does SNAP qualify me for a free phone?
Yes. SNAP enrollment automatically qualifies you for Lifeline. Show your EBT card or SNAP benefit letter.
What happened to the ACP internet program?
ACP funding expired in May 2024. Congress has not renewed it yet. Lifeline still provides phone discounts. Check AffordableConnectivity.gov for updates.
Can immigrants get the free phone program?
Yes. Lifeline is available to any U.S. resident who qualifies by income (135% FPL) or program participation. Immigration status is not a barrier.
